THE HANGOVER 3 (2013)

This is the first Hangover movie that there was no actually hangover until the final credits. It also was the only hangover movie that didn't have you laughing in stitches. Unlike the other parts that kept you laughing from scene to scene, part three had you waiting for what seemed to be forced comedy, and when the moment came you just had a controllable laugh to yourself and thought thought that was funny. The storyline tried to tie in the originally parts to part three so you would feel a more in depth view of the series which seemed to be the movies main focus. This just wasted a lot of valuable time that could of been spent making the movie funnier. Having the movie end up back in Vegas was a good touch, but wasn't enough to save the movie from separating itself from the first two successful comedies. Trying to end the movie with a clean getaway from Mr Chow who seemed to make this movie funny was a pitiful attempt to close the series for what possible could be the last Hangover movie. If a next movie was released we can only hope it is nothing like part three hangover which more felt like a action movie than a comedy. A complete disappointment compared to its predecessors. This would of been a better movie if it didn't have the famous title hangover to live up to so we wouldn't have the hopefully expectations to laugh our heads off because of the other great Hangover movies. Nothing like the other movies it felt that is was treading on a new path, rather than sticking with the already successful formula.

EVIL DEAD (1981)

Evil dead was a classic horror flick that came out in 1981, It propelled the horror genre into a new undiscovered direction and pushed the limits of gore which made it stand out. But as the new remake was just released, it entices you to re-watch the original classic horror movie to see how it compares to the latest edition. Now with modern day technology improvements special effects that immerse the viewer into a more believable world, you can not help but to compare the original horror to what we have grown to expect from horrors of our current times. With the transgression of movies, so do our own expectations of movies change with the times. What we grew up to think was one of the scariest movies we would have ever watched has now transformed to a crappy movie, even if we ignored the shameful special effects it is hard to ignore the many flaws in the storytelling. Depth in the story is one way to hold the audience and keeps your attention focused on following the story. The classic Evil Dead lacked everything that is now considered a must formula for the making of a good and successful movie. This movie was good then but lacks the endurance to hold its own to the tests that we put on a successful movie for today's times. A crap on film that can not stand the test of time, avoid at all costs and save yourself the reminiscent ride of nostalgia. Leave those fond memories of your old favourites in the past where they can not hurt your new expectations.
