THE HAUNTING OF HELENA (2012)

The haunting of Helena is a movie that tried to tie in the fairy tale of the tooth fairy into a horror about a woman who was gruesomely murdered in an apartment building. A mother who recently split with her husband moves into the same apartment building with her daughter and tries to take refuge from her marital problems. Soon after her daughter loses a tooth does Helena start to experience visits from the ghost of the murdered woman. Sophia the mother of Helena starts to witness strange happenings around their home and the transformation of her daughters declining attitude. Sophia tries to make sense of the strange occurrence by investigating the history of the recently acquired apartment with the fear that something super natural  is affecting her daughter. Her investigating brings her closer to a truth about what's happening to her daughter and closer to losing her and Helena's life. The devil is in the detail but not in this movie because it lacked a lot of detail and only a veteran horror fan can piece together the mystery that the movie tried to lead you to. The storyline felt like it jagged from point to point and the story only made sense once you watched the end of the movie. Don't watch it because you're only hurting yourself. Crap on film is what this movie is, so avoid at all costs to you sanity.

LOVELY MOLLY (2011)

As a newly married couple Tim and Molly make the decision to save money by moving to the countryside and live in Molly's recently deceased fathers home. Within a short period of living in the home Molly and Tim start to experience strange occurrences that shake her and her husband up which scares them enough to question their decision to move in the old eerie family home. These unexplained occurrences start to jog up the Molly's repressed memories that she had buried deep away in her subconscious which start to create moments where she is a slave to her instincts, leaving her out of control of her actions. Molly's unbalanced traumatised childhood slowly coming back to her in fragments which begins to shatter her perception of reality. Feeling possessed by her uncontrollable flashbacks which leaves her at the mercy of her alter ego, creates disaster for anyone in her way. This movie left a lot of gaps for the viewer to piece together and didn't have a flow to the storyline. It felt as if was going round and round without  a point being made which felt like a bumpy ride without much explanation and satisfaction. A bad movie that left you wondering how you were going to get that time back that you wasted on this movie which felt like watching crap on disk.

SPRING BREAKERS (2012)

Spring breakers played like a bad dream, it bounced back and forward at awkward moments that distracted you from the story. The story's fluidity felt irregular because the moments that you were trying to take in the story you would get a flashback of how the girls got where they were before the bad situation arose. The flashback didn't add much to the movie because it happened too often and we also didn't need the reminders of the past events because they weren't that long ago considering the movie only ran for 94 minutes. The movie revolved around the mayhem of the spring break parties which consisted of letting loose and going a little crazy. Sex, drugs and music filled most of the screen time and not much depth was added to the storyline. Spring Breakers story was focused around four college girls who end up in jail and get bailed out by a drug dealer. The drug dealer charms the girls with his money and his power and introduces to the next level of partying. This is short lived when his world gets tangled with their own, this takes away the fairytale of party without consequences. This movie had the potential to be good it just spent too much time on the boring and not enough time editing the boring parts. It tried to distract the easy satisfied with fun crazy party times, but that's all that it had to keep you watching. The paper on the bottom is also the ratings of this movie.

THE LONGEST RIDE (2015)

Its disappointing that successful movies are pasted over the covers of movies that try to create a similar success but never come close to immerse you as did the predecessors. The Longest Ride uses a car accident to intertwine the life of a old man who reflects on his past love and a young couple who are trying to decide if they should continue a relationship which their careers seem to be pulling them in different directions. Alan Alda plays Ira whose life experiences seems to be exactly what the young couple needed to get them out of a rut and headed for the best ride of their life. Not much can be said about the serendipity of the circumstances but what should have flowed seemed to feel like scenes were glued together just to suit the storyline. The parts in the movie where you were getting into the storyline the storyline would jump timeline into the other persons life. This movie felt rushed and should of created a better reason for connecting the young and old mans story, It should of stretched out the scenes that were tied to you relating to the characters emotions. Ignore what other great story telling movies that were tied to this movie because this movie is just average.

THE CONJURING 2 (2016)

The Conjuring 2 is the next true story based on the case files of Lorraine and Ed Warren. This time the scene is set in north London where the two supernatural fighters try to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits. This time around enough twists and turns confuse even the most avid movie follower. This has to be one of the few horror movies that can scare even the bravest viewer not only with the loud eerie sounds that come at unexpected moments but the ghosts and demons instil their evil image on brain even after you leave the cinema. So watch and dare yourself not to be scared. A must see for every horror fan out in the scary world.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (2016)

To be able to transform a simple mobile game into  a 1hr and 37 minute movie is an accomplishment in its own right, and to make it good deserves a thumbs up. When the birds are visited by the green piggies the story unfolds and shows how most of the birds changed from happy birds to the famous angry birds we have grown familiar with which has ushered our love into joining them on  their mobile adventures against the pigs. Red, Chuck and Bomb are just a few of the characters brought to life by the movie which the directors Clay kaytis and Fergal Reilly have done a great job squeezing most of the angry birds and even the popular slingshot makes an appearance . If you enjoy the game you will enjoy the movie for that it stays true to the game and adds another glorious level to the angry birds franchise.

PUSHED TO THE EDGE

Its sad that a lot of people in the world have the "I DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ATTITUDE",but it's disappointing that once upon a time a lot of those people did care before they experienced too many disappointments. It is easy to forget the negative effects on your life when your at your wits end, caring very little about most things will only hinder your own potential. Being on edge will only inhibit your mind and force you to dwell on past frustrations which will distract you from your present situation and will result in putting you further away from your own happiness. Focus on only what you can affect and let go of what you can't. Your freedom lies in your power to choose, will you try to be a good and happy person? or will you succumb to the weakness that only anger can bring?

MINE CRAFT (360)

Another game that is an addiction just like cigarettes for a smoker. We say we can stop but why would we if we enjoying what we're doing so much. This game is across between command and conquer , Sim City and Lego's with creativity as its main focus. It has the potential to be as good as your imagination will let you create your own immersive little world. Mine Craft gives you the tools to create, its up to you to add the detail to the canvas. A must play for anyone who has an imagination that needs to let loose on an imaginary game world. Great game but will sap the life out of the time that you normally allocate to sleep.

THE HANGOVER 3 (2013)

This is the first Hangover movie that there was no actually hangover until the final credits. It also was the only hangover movie that didn't have you laughing in stitches. Unlike the other parts that kept you laughing from scene to scene, part three had you waiting for what seemed to be forced comedy, and when the moment came you just had a controllable laugh to yourself and thought thought that was funny. The storyline tried to tie in the originally parts to part three so you would feel a more in depth view of the series which seemed to be the movies main focus. This just wasted a lot of valuable time that could of been spent making the movie funnier. Having the movie end up back in Vegas was a good touch, but wasn't enough to save the movie from separating itself from the first two successful comedies. Trying to end the movie with a clean getaway from Mr Chow who seemed to make this movie funny was a pitiful attempt to close the series for what possible could be the last Hangover movie. If a next movie was released we can only hope it is nothing like part three hangover which more felt like a action movie than a comedy. A complete disappointment compared to its predecessors. This would of been a better movie if it didn't have the famous title hangover to live up to so we wouldn't have the hopefully expectations to laugh our heads off because of the other great Hangover movies. Nothing like the other movies it felt that is was treading on a new path, rather than sticking with the already successful formula.

EVIL DEAD (1981)

Evil dead was a classic horror flick that came out in 1981, It propelled the horror genre into a new undiscovered direction and pushed the limits of gore which made it stand out. But as the new remake was just released, it entices you to re-watch the original classic horror movie to see how it compares to the latest edition. Now with modern day technology improvements special effects that immerse the viewer into a more believable world, you can not help but to compare the original horror to what we have grown to expect from horrors of our current times. With the transgression of movies, so do our own expectations of movies change with the times. What we grew up to think was one of the scariest movies we would have ever watched has now transformed to a crappy movie, even if we ignored the shameful special effects it is hard to ignore the many flaws in the storytelling. Depth in the story is one way to hold the audience and keeps your attention focused on following the story. The classic Evil Dead lacked everything that is now considered a must formula for the making of a good and successful movie. This movie was good then but lacks the endurance to hold its own to the tests that we put on a successful movie for today's times. A crap on film that can not stand the test of time, avoid at all costs and save yourself the reminiscent ride of nostalgia. Leave those fond memories of your old favourites in the past where they can not hurt your new expectations.

EVIL DEAD (2013)

Evil dead a 2013 remake of a 1981 classic horror movie. So did the advantages of the modern technological movie making improvements blow the old classic horror movie out of stadium. The short and confusing answer is not really, the premise was similar a group of friends go to a remote cabin for a holiday retreat and stumble onto the book of the dead and decide its a good idea to read from it which some how manages to raise the dead and bring demons out to play and posses their closest friends. Once the shit hits the fan a lot of  messy deaths with pop up surprises and you clinching onto your safety blanket for comfort and shelter from the surprise scary scenes that do just that surprise you. Yes its a great way of getting rid of hick ups , but this remake just felt like it was doing too much over kill. One death would happen and you didn't have much time to mourn the lost star because the next death was just around the corner. From scary to corny, Faster than you could say what the fcuk ? did the movie start to remind of the old horror classics where a woman wearing hardly anything would be running away from danger and then fall over a branch to get caught from whatever was chasing her. The moment it decided to change the leading star role it felt that it had to make everyone else stupid and the new leading star smart and brave. A disappointment remake because of its rushed story but thumbs up for special affects and atmosphere. By atmosphere, I mean gore, they're was a lot of it. Watch it to compare to the classic and see how bells and whistles don't always make for a better movie experience.
