THE HAUNTING OF HELENA (2012)

The haunting of Helena is a movie that tried to tie in the fairy tale of the tooth fairy into a horror about a woman who was gruesomely murdered in an apartment building. A mother who recently split with her husband moves into the same apartment building with her daughter and tries to take refuge from her marital problems. Soon after her daughter loses a tooth does Helena start to experience visits from the ghost of the murdered woman. Sophia the mother of Helena starts to witness strange happenings around their home and the transformation of her daughters declining attitude. Sophia tries to make sense of the strange occurrence by investigating the history of the recently acquired apartment with the fear that something super natural  is affecting her daughter. Her investigating brings her closer to a truth about what's happening to her daughter and closer to losing her and Helena's life. The devil is in the detail but not in this movie because it lacked a lot of detail and only a veteran horror fan can piece together the mystery that the movie tried to lead you to. The storyline felt like it jagged from point to point and the story only made sense once you watched the end of the movie. Don't watch it because you're only hurting yourself. Crap on film is what this movie is, so avoid at all costs to you sanity.

LOVELY MOLLY (2011)

As a newly married couple Tim and Molly make the decision to save money by moving to the countryside and live in Molly's recently deceased fathers home. Within a short period of living in the home Molly and Tim start to experience strange occurrences that shake her and her husband up which scares them enough to question their decision to move in the old eerie family home. These unexplained occurrences start to jog up the Molly's repressed memories that she had buried deep away in her subconscious which start to create moments where she is a slave to her instincts, leaving her out of control of her actions. Molly's unbalanced traumatised childhood slowly coming back to her in fragments which begins to shatter her perception of reality. Feeling possessed by her uncontrollable flashbacks which leaves her at the mercy of her alter ego, creates disaster for anyone in her way. This movie left a lot of gaps for the viewer to piece together and didn't have a flow to the storyline. It felt as if was going round and round without  a point being made which felt like a bumpy ride without much explanation and satisfaction. A bad movie that left you wondering how you were going to get that time back that you wasted on this movie which felt like watching crap on disk.
