SPRING BREAKERS (2012)
Spring breakers played like a bad dream, it bounced back and forward at awkward moments that distracted you from the story. The story's fluidity felt irregular because the moments that you were trying to take in the story you would get a flashback of how the girls got where they were before the bad situation arose. The flashback didn't add much to the movie because it happened too often and we also didn't need the reminders of the past events because they weren't that long ago considering the movie only ran for 94 minutes. The movie revolved around the mayhem of the spring break parties which consisted of letting loose and going a little crazy. Sex, drugs and music filled most of the screen time and not much depth was added to the storyline. Spring Breakers story was focused around four college girls who end up in jail and get bailed out by a drug dealer. The drug dealer charms the girls with his money and his power and introduces to the next level of partying. This is short lived when his world gets tangled with their own, this takes away the fairytale of party without consequences. This movie had the potential to be good it just spent too much time on the boring and not enough time editing the boring parts. It tried to distract the easy satisfied with fun crazy party times, but that's all that it had to keep you watching. The paper on the bottom is also the ratings of this movie.
THE LONGEST RIDE (2015)
Its disappointing that successful movies are pasted over the covers of movies that try to create a similar success but never come close to immerse you as did the predecessors. The Longest Ride uses a car accident to intertwine the life of a old man who reflects on his past love and a young couple who are trying to decide if they should continue a relationship which their careers seem to be pulling them in different directions. Alan Alda plays Ira whose life experiences seems to be exactly what the young couple needed to get them out of a rut and headed for the best ride of their life. Not much can be said about the serendipity of the circumstances but what should have flowed seemed to feel like scenes were glued together just to suit the storyline. The parts in the movie where you were getting into the storyline the storyline would jump timeline into the other persons life. This movie felt rushed and should of created a better reason for connecting the young and old mans story, It should of stretched out the scenes that were tied to you relating to the characters emotions. Ignore what other great story telling movies that were tied to this movie because this movie is just average.
