BASIL (1998)

Basil the son of an aristocrat grows up trying to live up to the high standard that his father expects of him but always seems to fall short. His mother who is his only support emotionally is gravely ill and can not be with him at his time of need. His brother falls in love with someone that his father doesn't approve of and is banished from their home which leaves him to be raised by a father who doesn't know how to show him a fathers love. Basil (Jared Leto) bumps into a John Mannion (Christian Slater) who beomes the friend that he was never aloud to have and then while meeting with his new found friend he meets Julia Sherwin (Claire Forlani) who he madly falls in love with and asks for her hand in marriage to show her that he only has eyes for her. This is where the story starts to show us a that their fates were already decided long ago when Basil was still a young naive boy. An entertaining movie that has you experiencing what life would of been like in the 19th century where class is so prominent. A watch or play two thumbs up.

APOSTLE (2018)

A woman is kidnapped by a religious cult that tries to use her for a ransom to sustain their dying village. Once her brother comes back from a war which he narrowingly survives he finds out that he must put himself back in danger to rescue his sister from this sinister cult which resides on an isolated island. This movie is set in 1905 and is blessed with gorgeous scenery and atmospheric moods that make you feel like your in the movie feeling as hopeless as the brother who struggling to save his sister from peril. An enjoyable flick that comes close to being great but it misses the mark on the story's explanation that has you waiting right at the end before things are explained. If it gave you a little more connection to the mysterious powers that are part of the island it would of got me hook line and sinker with two thumbs way up.

SEEKING JUSTICE (2011)

A school teachers wife is violently assaulted by a convicted rapist who has been released early on bail, he then gets a proposition to get revenge with the use of a hired vigilante. While suffering and feeling hopeless he gives in to his sorrow and he takes advantage of the oportunity to get his revenge at the cost of a favour he would have to comitt himself to. Even though he gets his revenge he finds out that he becomes the fall guy for a larger conspiracy. This movie has you biting your finger nails with all the surprises and close calls. It gets a two thumbs up for entertainment and satisfaction guaranteed.

A SIMPLE FAVOUR (2018)

A new friendship has a glamorous professional business woman asking her new plane Jane single friend for a small favour which becomes a lot more than what it seems.  Once stuck with a favour that has left her babysitting her friends child she starts to investigate her new friends disappearance and realises she doesn't know her as well as she thought. This is where the mystery starts and the movie takes its time to reveal the truth about her disappearance which eventually the movie starts to lose the plot by adding to much comedy in this movie which started off focusing on the drama which created a serious setting with lite humour to eventually become  an overdose of comedy that ruined the mood the movie began with. It's okay but could of be better if if cut out a little in the middle and didn't take some of the scenes too far

THE IMMIGRANT (2013)

The life of this Polish Immigrant is thrown into chaos when her and her sick sister arrive at Ellis Island and are rejected to be deported back home. Before she is deported back home she bumps into someone who claims that they can help her and her sister but she must work at a burlesque to work off her dept. While living in her forced lifestyle she meets a magician who promises to get her out of her bind and help her sister get off Ellis island. The atmosphere of this 1921 set reflects well in showing the viewer what life would be like if they were leaving everything behind and trying to start a new life in a foreign country and how it can change a person to do whatever it takes to survive. This movie does a great job in putting you in the passenger seat of a immigrant who is forced to make tough choices that change her long life morals .This is a two thumbs up from watch or play review.

THE NUN (2018)

The Nun uses the already success of the conjuring to bring you back to the story which wittingly links the horror movies together. In this movie the Vatican send an experienced priest and a nun with a talent to see the the future to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania which at first glance seems to be suicide. This movie shows us how the conjuring's malevolent force which takes on the shape of a demonic nun blends in at the monastery without anyone noticing her taking over slowly and shows us the history that connects to the earlier movie releases. The history of the monastery is tied to a failed attempt to open a doorway to hell which was fumbled just before the gateway opened by soldiers that fighting the evil doers. This movie could of been better if it was a little more subtle with the horror rather than feeling a little bit overdone as the movies that try to overthrow their predecessor. The previous movies created a fan base which  created high expectations for any part following. A must watch for the fans who want to broaden their knowledge of the series but not as entertaining as the conjuring movies.

The Avengers battle the all powerful Thanos who has managed to gather the infinity stones that spread through the world when the big bang created the universe. The infinity stones give those who carry them the power of the gods and with that power the choice to destroy mankind which brings most of the Avengers to the biggest war they have ever faced. This is a must see movie that watch or play definitely recommends watch it and immerse yourself in the marvel world that is brought to life in the fantastic movie.
