Those who have mastered the art of schmoozing have an edge over anyone who takes the informal conversation as sincere rather than noticing that the true objective of the fake praise is to manipulate the situation by giving them the upper hand. Praising insincerely or too eagerly is kryptonite for those who are weak minded and insecure, craving gratification from others fuels their ego and keeps their insecurities at bay. Schmoozes are a necessity in a world that would rather here lies than hearing the truths because it may impact their preconceived views. Ignoring questions that get us thinking seems to be the norm when a society has softened it's threshold and would rather now choose the simple path rather than the right one.
